Hey guys! Deer season has begun...about time. And what a great day weather wise (30mph winds and snow). Anyway, I hunted from about 7:00-10:00 this morning in the Silver Lake Park. I wanted to be in my tree by 6:30, but old man Rebisz was running a bit late. The nice part was that it was light enough on my way in to my stand that when my flashlight batteries ran out I could see well enough to find my stand anyway. It was really cold (33) and snowy. I saw nothing until about 8:30. At that time I had three small bucks (4, 5, and 6 points) come in and play around my stand for about 45 minutes. It was really cool. At one point they were all sparring at the same time about 10 yards from my stand. I almost shot the six pointer, but decided to save my dad's tag for later in the season (haha). On the way out of the woods we jumped two bucks. One was a small six pointer and the other looked to be about 16-18" wide. He had long, thick main beams, but I couldn't make out much in the way of points. All in all a great morning. Hope everyone else did well. I'm heading back out in the morning (actually I'm going to pick my spot out right now.) I'll let you all know how I do. I attached pictures of two does Larry and I shot on a late season shotgun hunt to the East Side of Letchworth Park last year. It was a beautiful day.

P.S. - Now that deer season has officially started, I expect to see more posts my friends!!!
