Hey guys and girls, I am in the blog business now. I wanted to show you guys a deer I shot yesterday just up the road from the house. It was the biggest one I ever shot! And I did not even have to drag it through the adirondacks for several miles with no trail. The drag was about 200 yards to my friend's son's waiting four wheeler(just doesn't seem right). I went hunting with some friends that I occaisionally go hunting with (usually about 1-3 times a year and usually on opening day in the northern zone)and on the second drive this monster comes out and to within 60 yards I was able to down him on the first shot with Uncle Ralph and Aunt Ann's old Stevens 30/30 bolt action. I had to wait when I first saw it at about 120 yards I almost shot but forced myself to wait a little as it was coming my way. I then lost sight of it for a few seconds and then it popped out on a trot at about 60 yards and I was able to get a good shot on it. I shot it once more to make sure (but this was unneeded cheap insurance). It wieghed 213 pounds and was an eleven pointer. I am very pleased to say the least. 17.5 inch inside spread and 20.5 inch outside spread with a lot of mass.

Shaun that buck is unbelievable. It is amazing that you shot your biggest buck right down the road from your house and not up hunting crazy in the mountains like you usually do. I look forward to seeing your buck in real life after you get it mounted. Can't wait to see you in a few weeks at Letchworth. Remember to bring your fishing stuff so we can hit the tributaries for salmon, steelhead, and brown trout. Great start to your hunting season!!!
